Touch In Sol – New Releases & New Website

If you have been a long-time reader of the blog, firstly thank you, you’re a gem and deserve a lifetime of burritos. But secondly, you might remember a post about Touch In Sol from nearly a year ago. I mentioned in the post about their incredible mascara and my wish for the colour cosmetics to hit Australian stores. Well, we are in luck! Touch In Sol are launching  a brand new website really soon, giving us easy access to their stunning range of cosmetics. A few goodies have landed here at Beauty Bender HQ, so I thought we would have a quick chat about the products that will now be available to us Aussies.

Brow Gellin Gel Eyebrow Styler *

I love me a pomade style eye brow gel. I find that this type of formula is best for long-lasting, defined brows. The Brow Gellin is a little different however. Instead of the normal pot, this is delivered in a pen like design. It is a little deceiving  though as the pen comes apart into a brush and pot type of set up. It first glace the pot is quite small and it may make it a little difficult to use.  Although the brush does fit in the pot with ease, it doesn’t look like there is a whole lot of product and it does make me think that the more I use it, the harder it will be to get product out. This particular gel is light, blendable and quite natural looking. The brush is surprisingly good; it is soft but firm enough to get that much desired definition. I found this formula super easy to use and a littler drier than some pomades, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I find that it doesn’t move or smudge and dries really quickly. I really really like the formula, like, really really like! But I think the cool practical packaging may not be so practical in the long run. But you can make up your own minds. This is by far my favourite of the Touch In Sol brow range.

Browza Super Proof Gel Brow Liner*

Browza is Touch In Sol’s version the much loved Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. The packaging states that Browza is a water proof, sweat proof  and smudge proof gel brow pencil.  The packaging is simple and includes a little spoolie. The pencil itself is a little larger than I expected, but with a light-hand it works just as well. The formula certainly does glide on and is easily blended in for a natural look.  Browza works well for a brow pencil but my only critisism would be that the spoolie is just a little too soft and doesn’t really comb my crazy brows into place, nor does it assit in the blending of product.

Light Bright Brow Spot Highlight*

I really like the concept of this product, Light Bright is essentially a highlighting pen that is used to highlight the brow bone, inner corner and basically any sweet feature on your cute little face. While the formula does require a little blending, the result is beautiful, yet subtle. Perfect if you tend to stray away from instagram-style, crazy shimmery brow bones. I really like using Light Bright on natural looking makeup days to accentuate my eyes without going overboard.

Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Shadow Duo*

Now this is one of the new releases that I was most excited about. I  have read reviews of these little wonders and just had to get my hands on some. The idea behind this little wand is a long-lasting, high-pigment foiled eye shadow without any trouble. Firstly you spread on the liquid foil to add pigment to the eye but to also act like a glitter glue. The next step is the foiled glitter shadow, and man does this pack a punch – It is just stunning. Once placed on top of the base it transforms into the most glittery metallic magical eye shadow you’ve ever seen. There is very minimal fall out and the product lasts all night. There is no fussing about with glue, there isn’t sparkles all over your face (unless that’s the look you’re going for), there isn’t any gross creasing and sparkles all up in your eyeballs. Metallist is easy, dramatic and oh-so sparkly. It is perfect for a night out, or just adding some sparkle to any look. I believe that it comes in 5 shades, all of which are fabulous. I have Margaret which as you can see is a rose gold/champagne hybrid.  If there is something that NEEDS a place on your wishlist, it is this.

Swatch on the top is just the base and swatch below is both the liquid and powder.

Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara *

Where do I begin with this holy grail item? Never have I come across a mascara that gives me such butterfly like lashes. Stretchex is super black and the formula is not thick nor is it runny. It glides on the lashes without much effort and immediately my lashes are lengthened beyond belief. They are also separated, curled and voluminous. There are no clumps, no flaking and my lashes just look unreal. It really is the all in one mascara. Because of the buildable formula, it is easy to layer and build up on its own or on top of other mascaras for a more dramatic look. This little yellow and black beauty is a staple in my makeup bag and I couldn’t be more thrilled that it will now be easily available to me.

‘scuse the bare face, but this is with only one quick coat of Stretchex mascara.

Style Black Gel Liner *

These little gems are a whole heap of fun, they aren’t your ordinary eyeliner. These gel liners although black have a special little sparkle. Each of them have a coloured fleck that will add a whole other level to your eyeliner game. These are gel based and glide on like an absolute dream. Once they are set, they are not going anywhere. These don’t smudge, transfer or move around at all, no matter how oily your little lids are. They really add a pop of something specail to your look and are worth at t he very least a swatch.

Go Extreme High Definition Lip Lacquer*

These are another range of products that I am particularly excited about. The Lip Lacquers are soft, slightly mousse-y but super hydrating. They are glossy without being sticky, or slimey and I would compare them to NYX Butter Gloss but with a touch more pigment and more longevity. The smell and taste is slightly chemical, which isn’t my favourite, but the comfort factor it is biggest redeeming feature and gets it over the line. The packaging is super cute and the applicator works really well. Although these are marketed as a lip lacquer, I would describe them more as a hydrating lip gloss.  I am interested to see what other shades are available in the range.

One Step Closer Lip Crayon Bar *

These little babies seriously surprised me. My experience with lip crayons are usually very balm and sheer formulas that are perfect for over the top of liquid lipsticks etc. But these are suuuuuuuper pigmented while still being balmy and glossy. They are so pigmented that they act like a lip stain as well. Again, there are really comfortable on the lips.

Are you as excited as I am for Touch In Sol’s new website and colour cosmetics to launch? What do you have your eye on?

Until next time,

Brand Spotlight – Touch in Sol

Hi lovely people,

I have always been interested in Korean cosmetics. The packaging is always colourful and adorable, plus the products are all really innovative and inventive. Needless to say, I was pretty excited when Priceline started stocking Touch In Sol late last year. My first encounter with Touch In Sol was when I travelled to Hawaii and bought the ‘Beauty Superstars’ sample box from Sephora. It contained the Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect mascara and boy, did I love it – It made my lashes long, curled and defined. My lashes looked like they could fly me away. Unfortunately Priceline doesn’t currently stock all of the colour cosmetics (no more butterfly lashes for me), it does however carry a huge range of primers, BB creams and other lovely products to slather all over yo’ face.

I am a little picky with primers. I dislike anything overly slippery, thick or slimy and I like something that plumps the skin and disguises pores. I need something that prevents my skin from getting oily but also isn’t too matte as well.  Touch In Sol do primers well, they tick all the boxes plus more. The Dark Out primers are lovely and are right on the colour correcting trend. There are three different colours – green for redness, purple to correct yellow and sallow tones and the peach version brightens and corrects gray tones. These primers are creamy, but not too thick, hydrating and the formula spreads out nicely. They disguise imperfections and leave the skin smooth and ready for foundation. These bad boys are on constant rotation and are much-loved items in my stash.

I have to mention the No Poreblem Primer because it is insanely good. It leaves the skin so soft, smooth and silky. My pores are immediately banished and ready for foundation. This primer makes my base sit seamlessly and prevents any oil breaking through throughout the day. Although No Poreblem is a silicone based primer it doesn’t leave behind a slippery film or greasy feeling that a lot of other similar primers do. I must give an honorable mention to I’m Very Useful Make-up Boomer primer, it illuminates so beautifully and leave such a lovely natural glow.

I was instantly intrigued by the Flawless Skin Top Coat. The idea sounded interesting and innovative. This magical product claims to combine a primer, BB cream, foundation and face powder all in one.It can be used alone, under or on-top of foundations. I have played around with this quite a bit and have found it works best for me when worn alone. The coverage, longevity and finish are already amazing on its own.  The packaging is beautiful and the product is delivered through an eye-dropper, therefore is quite thin.  It spreads, builds up and blends so effortlessly, covers all imperfections and evens skin tone, all while leaving the skin velvety soft with a soft powdery finish. Flawless Skin Top Coat lasts well, prevents oil and leaves skin looking healthy and airbrushed. The only downside is that it only comes in two shades.

I was lucky enough to receive the Corean CC-Cream but it unfortunately is way too light for me. But despite this I gave it a try while I was at home one day. The formula is creamy and spreads well. It left my skin really glowing with a light-medium coverage and seems to be a perfect ‘no make-up’ makeup. If only it wasn’t so light and didn’t leave me looking like a ghost. I believe that most Korean cosmetics don’t cater for medium to darker skin tones.

Another product that I have trialled is the Mission Complete Waterproof Sensitive Lip and Eye Makeup Cleanser(what a mouthful). First of all, I love the packaging. It is pretty cool looking and looks great in the bathroom.  Not only that, it actually works really well.  Its creamy and non-irritating and lifts off waterproof mascara and liquid lipsticks effortlessly. It can be used as a whole face makeup remover as well, but it does leave the skin a touch oily, so it is best to use cleanser afterwards as well.

Overall this is a great brand and really good introduction to Korean cosmetics. Touch In Sol create high quality cosmetics that deliver on their promises. In my opinion the primers are the standout of the current Touch In Sol line available. Hopefully one day soon Priceline will release more of the colour cosmetic range and my eyelashes will be back to being  beautiful butterflies.

Touch In Sol is sold exclusively in Priceline. Have you used any of their products? Can you recommend any other Korean cosmetic brands?

New and Noteworthy

Being a beauty blogger and obsessive quite a lot of new products grace my desk from week to week.  I thought I would share with you a couple of new and noteworthy products currently at On A Beauty Bender HQ.

I was generously gifted a stunning package from Sisley Paris containing an Express Flower Gel Mask and 3 Phyto-Eye Twists. I haven’t had much experience with this particular brand, so I am looking forward to giving these products a try. The packaging is classy and elegant, and immediately caught my eye. The Express Flower masks boasts a high concentration of hydrating ingredients such as lily, iris and sesame extracts. It also claims to fight any traces of fatigue and stress in three minutes and leaves the skin brighter, glowing and radiant. I am really looking forward to using this beautiful product in my next pamper session. Stay tuned for a review.  The Phyto-Eye twists are long-lasting,  water-proof eye-shadow pencils full of active botanicals. The pencils are beautifully packaged with zebra print gracing the tubes. The pencil itself is mechanical and is a  great size making it easy to grip and use. The formula is smooth and velvety and glides on with ease. They blend amazingly and seriously last forever. I first swatched them on my hand and carried on with my daily chores – washing up, vacuuming etc and I noticed the swatches were still intact on my hand while I was cooking dinner several hours later.  I have worn these a couple of times and really love them. They are perfect for a swipe of colour for an easy make up look. Sisley Paris are sold exclusively in David Jones stores.

Flawless foundation application with the Lottie London foundation brush.

Lottie London is a beauty accessories brand that has recently been released in Australia and will be sold exclusively at Target. I adore the beautiful bright colours and they stand out in my current brush collection. The brushes themselves are really soft and pick up product easily. They are dense and fluffy and enable a perfect application of eyesahdows and foundation. Lottie London is vegan and cruelty free and really great value for money. If you are after an affordable and effective brush Lottie London is a great place to start.

I was lucky enough to pick up The Estee Lauder new Flawless Start primer from the Beauty Heaven Beautorium. I am so so so glad that I used my points to purchase this – It is amazing. It applies so smoothly, instantly covers pores and creates the perfect canvas for makeup. My foundation glides on and lasts all day without any shine, my skin is brightened and hydrated. This little guy is a winner.

I picked up Mario Badescu drying cream from Mecca recently as I have notices an increase of blackheads on my nose (Yuck!) and nasty hormonal breakouts.  I have read really impressive reviews on this treatment cream and thought I would give it a go. Stay tuned for a review in a couple of weeks time.

Touch in Sol is a brand that I have really been enjoying lately. It has sparked my interest in Korean cosmetics. I own quite a few of their primers and so far love them all. The No Poreblem primer is so lovely. It feels so soft on the skin and really disguises pores and evens out skin tone. I have only used this bad boy once or twice but I already know it is going to be a frequently used product. I have also tried the Dark Out primers. These primers are coloured and are used for specific skin complaints. Purple covers dark spots, Green covers redness and the Peach disguises gray skin tones. These little tubes are really beautiful primers and are right on trend at the moment. Colour correcting is a great way of creating a flawless base. Stay tuned for a brand spotlight on Touch In Sol shortly.
Have you come across any new exciting products?
